Appointing a Director
Bringing a new director on board is a big step forward. For larger companies, this usually happens at an AGM or EGM with a formal vote. Smaller businesses can take a more flexible approach, guided by their Articles of Association and agreed between shareholders or existing directors.
Once a new director is appointed, Companies House must be notified within 14 days.
If you’re adding multiple directors and we don’t already hold their details, we’ll need to run ID and Anti–Money Laundering (AML) checks for each one.
Additional AML charges apply – £35 + VAT per director.
Resigning or Changing a Director
If a director steps down or their details change, that also needs to be reported to Companies House within 14 days. Keeping this up to date helps your business stay compliant and avoids unnecessary admin later down the line.
